The front door opens directly onto a large breakfast/living room. The beautiful old table (originally from a pub in Seathwaite) seats 10 comfortably and 12 at a pinch, with magnificent views down the valley through the picture window.
A wood burning stove provides plenty of warmth. A farmhouse bench, carved sideboard and implements from bygone ages give the room a timeless feeling of warmth, light and welcome. There are plenty of board and card games in the sideboard if the weather is less than perfect.
The cosy sitting room has plenty of seating arranged around the open fire. Decorated with old farming implements and a wonderful collection of old irons, plus local water-colours and reference books about the history of the area.
The kitchen has a 7 burner gas hob over a double electric oven (fan and conventional, plus grill) and plenty of cupboard space. It is very well equipped with a large fridge, worktop height freezer, dishwasher, microwave, pots, pans and dishes making cooking for groups a pleasure.
The dark stone-flag floor and back slate (for keeping food cool) are original features dating back to the 19th century.
